Muppet Show Summer

Announcement for all o’ y’alls!
Beginning June 1st (the blog’s two-year anniversary), “Muppet Show Summer” will begin. From June through September, there will be a new post every day from every episode of The Muppet Show, going in chronological order (from Juliet Prowse to Roger Moore). So, stay tuned for the most sensational, inspiration, celebrational, Muppetational summer ever (as far as I know)!

For my Advanced Video class, we had to do a Scene Reenactment. Mine is moreso a scene interpretation.
At any rate, I present my version of “Man or Muppet”.
(reblogged from my personal Tumblr)
Hey, remember this video?
Well, my Adv. Video class chose this (and a second from someone else) to be played at the TeenArts Festival, held at our nearby community college.
The crowd loved it (the “Jim Parsons” moment got a great reaction).
A film review teacher had given us reviews of our videos and really liked it, but had some odd theory as to why the scenes took place in the Boy’s room, saying that because they’re not “men”, they wouldn’t use the “Mens” room. In actuality, I chose those bathrooms because they’re the only ones that have mirrors in them.
If you didn’t see it the first time, enjoy it this go-round!
A photo of me and my FAO Muppet Whatnot (and mah great Kermit sneakers) during our down time of The Pajama Game.
(We were doing “Time Warp,” and I’m doing Riff-Raff’s weird leg-stomp thing)
I don’t often reblog things from other people on this blog, but Oscar’s my favorite character and this drawing is too awesome not to share.
“MAN OR MUPPET” has been nominated for Best Original Song in the 2012 Oscars!
HELLO EVERYBODYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
I’d like to bring a couple things to your attention:
“The Balcony” is open; if you wish, you can post feedback, suggestions, questions, requests, etc.
I’m also starting to accept Submissions. If you want to sumbit something, try to follow the format I have set by the blog. Muppet GIFs are more than welcome!
Woo-hoo! 500 followers!
Thanks everybody for your support!
Jim Henson’s Fantastic World
So, I spent today at the Museum of Moving Image in Queens and saw the “Jim Henson’s Fantastic World” exhibit. I enjoyed it very much.
Everyone was crowed around a screen that was playing a short biography of Jim. They all were laughing at the “Java” clip and Miss Piggy karate chopping Kermit. Some old man was laughing his head off at the old Wilkins commercials. Plus, seeing footage of Kermit hosting the Tonight Show made me want to see that episode so much more.
The puppets were beautiful. Gorgeous. I literally wanted to smash the glass and put my hand up them all.
There were kids everywhere and they had such high energy. They were all drawn to the puppets. But, one slap to the face was one kid asking which one was Ernie and which one was Bert. :/
I also saw their screening of “A Muppet Family Christmas”, mostly uncut. It looked great. They also played a 15-minute or so compilation of old Muppet Christmas footage (stuff from Emmett Otter, The Great Santa Claus Switch, Christmas Eve on Sesame Street, etc.), including a sweet montage of different performances of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” I may even be going again this weekend for the “Inside the Sesame Street Vaulte” screening (yes, they spelled Vault with an e…)
If you’re near NYC, GO SEE THIS THING! You only have until March to do it!
What sparked your interest in the Muppets?
As far as the regular Muppets go (Kermit, Fozzie, etc.), I got to them through Sesame Street. I’d watch it on TV and rent videos from my library and video stores. All the other Henson videos were lumped there with the SS ones, so I saw the Muppet movies through there and the rest is history!
